| Bilstein, Getting the ride that is right for you Bilstein mono-tube gas pressure shock absorbers are available in a wide variety of sizes and stiffness settings, depending upon the vehicle type and use. All Bilstein shock absorbers instantaneously self-adjust to changing road surfaces; in addition, their performance does not gradually decline from age, use or heat, requiring no compensating manual adjustments as with conventional multi-tube shocks. Shock stiffness settings are divided into the categories shown below. |

Sport (SP) - For the performance-minded driver, Bilstein "Sport" shocks deliver absolute mastery of the road surface. Designed to push a car's suspension to it's performance peak, these shocks are well suited for use with special springs, anti-sway bars or other suspension upgrades. Heavy Duty (HD) - For most vehicles including full-size sedans, SUV's and trucks. These shocks provide improved handling and stability without sacrificing ride comfort. They offer super damping ability that makes them ideal for heavy hauling for occasional off-road use, while maintaining an exceptional "street" ride. Ralle, Race For rigorous demands of driving competition. Their success should be measured by the unprecedented levels of acceptance and use by professional drivers in virtually all major Motorsports. Include such f3eatures as spherical bearings, adjustable spring seats longer or shorter than standard dimensions. *Not suited for street use. |

Koni Shocks Many of the KONI Sport dampers are externally adjustable by means of a knob, so they need not be disassembled from the car. The fine-tuning of the damping forces to personal driving style and to different driving conditions is therefore not more than a matter of seconds |

| Special / Classic - Most are Rebound Adjustable off the vehicle. Rebound is adjusted by fully compressing the shock and rotating it CW to make it Firmer. Sport - Externally Rebound Adjustable. These dampers can be adjusted, literally at the turn of a knob, a technique borrowed from Fromula-1 racing where Koni dampers have dominated the field for years. One can switch back and forth, in most cases in a matter of seconds, from a comfortable "touring" setting to a more firm setting for a sporty drive. By means of a knob the damping forces can be altered to driving conditions or personal preferences. KONI monotube high pressure shocks for the C5 Corvette have a single adjustment for rebound and the shock does not have to be removed from the car for adjustment as in other applications. An advantage of the 3013 series shock is that it can be converted by Koni-NA to a 3012 series giving you compression and rebound adjustments. The cost for this service is estimated in the $250 price range per shock plus shipping charges. KONI twin tube low pressure shocks for the C4 Corvette have a single adjustment for rebound with just a twist of the white KONI adjustment knob. 8242 Series - Rebound is adjusted by Inserting a pin into the slotted adjuster located at the top eye. Counterclockwise will cause the forces to increase. From the minimum or factory positions, there are up to 8 possible sweeps of adjustment ( 1 sweep equals 1/4 turn). 8241 & 8741 Series - Rebound is adj. Externally with a twist of the Koni white knob. Clockwise will make it softer. 30 Series - Rebound is adjusted by fully extending the shock and rotating it Clockwise to make it Firmer 80 & 8040 Series - Rebound is adjusted by fully compressing the shock and rotating it CW to make it Firmer. |

Koni FSD - (P/N incudes 4 shocks) In standard shock absorbers the rebound damping characteristic is defined by the oil flow through the piston assembly (1). The Koni Frequency Selective Damper has an extra valve (2) that controls an oil flow parallel to the piston assembly. This valve opens for ample movement of fluid over high frequency inputs such as expansion joints and rough roads, which gives the vehicle a smooth ride. When the vehicle body begins moving over low frequency inputs such as cornering transitions and long bumps, the FSD valve is closed and makes an immediate increase in the damping force for optimal control. Since the valve is an integrated part of the hydraulic valve system, no additional cables, sensors or any other electronic devices are needed. |
