CM 25-200 and 25-400 series filters are superior to conventional and other aftermarket spin-on filters. The high strength of the aluminum housing gives you many years of service and the filtering capacity of the replaceable element far exceeds the OEM specification. CM spin-on filters come in two heights. Both filters out flow and out filter OEM specification. The long filter can hold more contamination because of its size and therefore doesn't need to be changed as often. When room is the limiting factor a shorter filter will still deliver absolute protection. |

| SPIN-ON THREAD CHART Finding the Correct Part Number Spin-On filter part numbers are listed above with their corresponding thread and gasket sizes. To determine the correct part number for your application consult this thread chart below. The chart lists the thread size and gasket size for most popular applications. Those applications listed with a Standard O-Ring have a standard 2-5/8" mounting surface. Those applications listed with a Large O-Ring use a large than standard mounting surface. Chassis and ground clearance should be checked to determine which length filter will fit best. |

| CANISTER OIL AND SCREEN FILTERS CM canister filters come in two styles, fiber element oil filters and screen filters. The oil filters come with Canton's synthetic fiber filter element that filters down to 8 micron and is ideal for use as a primary filtration filter. The screen filters come with a screen element installed and are ideal for an inspection filter. Both filters feature hosing s made from a light weight 3-1/4" aluminum square extrusion, 1-1/16" -12 straight O-ring ports and a removable top cap that allows for easy and mess free element replacement. Filters have blue anodized bodies and clear anodized end caps. Stainless steel mounting clamp is included. |

Canister oil filters come in two sizes. The taller, 6" filter, can hold more contamination because of it's size and therefore doesn't need to be changed as often. However, when room is the limiting factor the shorter, 4" filter, is ideal and will still deliver absolute protection. #25-006 4" tall remote housing, with a 2-5/8" synthetic fiber element. CM screen filters provide general filtration with the ability to easily monitor contaminants. CM fine elements (140 mesh/180 micron) are recommended for filtering all significant particles without restricting flow. CM coarse (50 mesh/250 micron) elements are recommended when heavier oil is used and the particles being monitored are larger, as in transmissions and differentials. CM remote screen oil filters are 3 1/4" in diameter and 6" tall with -12 O-ring ports ports. Machined from a lightweight aluminum extrusion, the housing is blue anodized with a clear anodized top and bottom cap. Filter Tips CM Oil Filters have a longer life than standard oil filters. In a normal street application the oil filter can be changed every 10,000 miles. When using a synthetic oil the oil should be changed every 5,000 miles while the element should be changed every other oil change. Checking your filter element is one of the best ways to monitor your engine. To inspect your CM filter remove the element from the housing and take the end caps off the metal cages. Slide the fiber element out and stand it up on some paper towels to drain out the oil. After draining, unroll the element for inspection. During the first few inspections, after an engine rebuild, debris from break in and particles left over from the machining will show up. The amount of these contaminates will decrease over time, any major increase will indicate a problem. Canton o-ring fittings are specifically designed to work with CM products. The threads are made to the exact length needed to ensure thy sit all the way into the CM filters and thermostats without extending too far and interfering with the components inside. Fittings available elsewhere that are too long or too short may cause problems and reduce the performance of your system. |
