The Maximum Motorsports Caster/Camber Plates

Mustangs need more grip. They especially need more front-end grip. More front grip means less understeer, less plowing in turns, and higher cornering speeds. Mustangs need more grip to provide the performance demanded by enthusiast drivers.

High performance driving requires a performance alignment. The first step on the path to more grip is to ensure that the car's front-end alignment remains stable. Proper alignment settings will dramatically improve the front-end grip of a Mustang. Even spirited driving, let alone driving in competition, requires alignment settings that do not change from cornering loads. If alignment settings are dynamically unstable, the car's cornering limit will be reduced.

Note:
1) You will have to determine if your front control arm bushings are standard bushings or Hydro-bushings. To determine the type of bushings, use a screwdriver to pry on the metal flange of the rearward bushing of the front control arm. If the metal flange is rigid and is one piece with the pressed-in metal shell, you have standard bushings. If the metal flange is movable and independent from the pressed-in metal shell, you have hydro-bushings.

MM Front Control Arms:

For the best performance, if you have converted to coil-over front suspension, Look here for our various applications of front control arms, that will reduce weight, improve your suspension geometry, and reduce bushing deflection with the associated alignment variations.
Maximum Motorsports Maximum Motorsports front control arms set a new, higher standard of performance. MM's engineering team designed these from a clean sheet of paper, which is why they are not only unique looking, but stronger than any others.

* MM control arms are a true "A"-arm rather than a "V"-arm. This provides maximum rigidity and equalizes forces delivered into the K-member.
* MM control arms are gusseted in critical areas to ensure that the entire control arm will bend in an accident before a weld ever breaks.
* MM control arms allow a tighter turning radius by allowing the tires to steer at a greater angle than the stock control arms.
* Available with either urethane or Delrin bushings. Urethane bushings are much smaller and stiffer than stock control arm bushings to provide increased responsiveness with minimum noise. Delrin bushings have zero deflection for competition, and have a marginal increase in ride harshness and noise compared to urethane bushings.
* There are two geometries available; zero-offset (stock geometry) or forward-offset. The zero-offset geometry has the same relationship between the ball joint and the control arm pivots as the stock control arms. The forward-offset geometry version moves the ball joint forward 3/4". When combined with the MM K-Member, this will move the wheels forward 1-1/2" (some fender-opening modifications may be required).
* Stock Ford control arms weigh 14-3/4 lbs. each. The MM control arms weigh 8 lbs. each.
* The MM control arms can be installed on a stock K-Member, or on most other aftermarket K-Members which accept stock control arms (some modifications are required to a stock K member).
* The MM control arms can only be used with a coil-over conversion kit; they do not allow the installation of springs in the stock location.
* The 1994 and newer control arms can be used on the 1979-93 cars for an increase in track width. Significant fender modifications are required.

MM K-Member: Maximum Motorsports spent over two years optimizing their K-Member, both on the track and on the computer. The result is that the front of your car will corner like nothing else you've experienced. Unlike other K-Members on the market, strength, stiffness, and durability are given a higher priority than ultra-low weight so that your investment will last the life of your vehicle.

* MM K-Member lengthens the wheelbase 3/4", which improves the front/rear weight distribution and increases caster.
* MM optimized the vertical location of the control arm pivots. This improves the camber curve on lowered vehicles and improves the roll center height.
* MM K-Member offers two different vertical locations for the control arm pivots, allowing you to choose the one that's best for your car's ride height.
* MM optimize the location of the steering rack for the greatest improvement in Ackerman steering geometry, which helps reduce understeer and tire wear.
* After extensive testing of anti-dive, we determined that Ford got it right! The stock amount of anti-dive is best, and that is what MM built into their K-member.
* MM K-Member allows 5.0 engines to be set back one inch.
* The MM K-Members are modular, allowing 5.0 engines to be installed in 96+ cars, or modular engines to be installed in pre-96 cars.
* Increased oil-pan clearance for all aftermarket oil-pans means oil-pan service is easier.
* Header clearance is increased by over 1" in critical areas.
* Easier access to the starter motor.
* Pre drilled plumb bob holes for easy and accurate squaring of the K-member to the car.
* The factory Ford K-Members weigh on average 50 lbs. The MM K-Member weighs 36 lbs.
Maximum Motorsports MMKM Every MM K-Member comes standard with a two point K-Member Brace (see photo). If you have a Canton Oil Pan on your 4.6L engine, note to swap MMKB2-5 (also available separately below) for the standard MMKB2-4 which is normally included.

Proper installation of the K-Member will also require the use of the following parts:
-Tubular front control arms (stock control arms are not compatible because of the large outside diameter of the pivot bushings)

This is the gauge used when aligning MM's race cars. With accuracy better than 1/8-degree, it easily matches the performance of much more expensive gauges. The range of camber adjustment is from seven-degrees positive to seven-degrees negative.
