Many of the shocks and struts you'll find here are adjustable and some like Koni, have dual adjustments. One obvious benefit for adjustable shocks is for those who drive their cars to the track. Adjust them for the track, race, then adjust them for the drive home. Helps keep your teeth where they belong. If adjustable shocks intimidate you, there are a few good books out there related to setting up suspensions. |

Bilstein, Getting the ride that is right for you Bilstein mono-tube gas pressure shock absorbers are available in a wide variety of sizes and stiffness settings, depending upon the vehicle type and use. All Bilstein shock absorbers instantaneously self-adjust to changing road surfaces; in addition, their performance does not gradually decline from age, use or heat, requiring no compensating manual adjustments as with conventional multi-tube shocks. Shock stiffness settings are divided into the categories shown below Sport (SP) - For the performance-minded driver, Bilstein "Sport" shocks deliver absolute mastery of the road surface. Designed to push a car's suspension to it's performance peak, these shocks are well suited for use with special springs, anti-sway bars or other suspension upgrades. Heavy Duty (HD) - For most vehicles including full-size sedans, SUV's and trucks. These shocks provide improved handling and stability without sacrificing ride comfort. They offer super damping ability that makes them ideal for heavy hauling for occasional off-road use, while maintaining an exceptional "street" ride. |

| Maximum Motorsport Bilstein Grooved Rear Shocks: These shocks are the same as the similar part number without the "G" prefix, but has been grooved for use with a coil-over suspension. If you purchase the coil-over kit at the same time, you will get a $20 discount on each shock. You may also have the grooving charge credited later if you purchase one of our coil-over kits in a later purchase. Maximum Motorsport Sport Valved Bilstein Shocks/Struts: Maximum Motorsports Race Valved Bilstein Shocks/Struts: MM has developed their exclusive race-valved Bilstein struts and shocks after a year of extensive track and shock-dyno testing. MM chose to start with the legendary Bilstein platform because they provide the ultimate in reliability and performance. With Bilstein's mono-tube construction and superior valve design we were able to increase the stability and responsiveness of the dampers while also increasing their ability to absorb bumps. Compared to a twin tube design, the mono-tube design also allows heat to easily transfer from the fluid and reduces heat-induced damper fade. Constructed with the highest quality materials and workmanship, these units will out-last all other struts and shocks on the track. While adjustable struts and shocks can give a competitive edge to a racer, that same adjustability can be a drawback because of the high skill level required to correctly tune adjustable units. The non-adjustability of the MM Race Bilstein is precisely what can make them preferable to Koni DA's--you are able to concentrate on your driving rather than on how to tune your shocks. The MM Race Bilstein's are an excellent choice for drivers who frequently open-track their car, or for a race-only car. Note: All MM Sport, Race 2 and Race 3 Valved Shocks are grooved. |

Koni Shocks Many of the KONI Sport dampers are externally adjustable by means of a knob, so they need not be disassembled from the car. The fine-tuning of the damping forces to personal driving style and to different driving conditions is therefore not more than a matter of seconds |

| Special / Classic - Most are Rebound Adjustable off the vehicle. Rebound is adjusted by fully compressing the shock and rotating it CW to make it Firmer. Sport - Externally Rebound Adjustable. These dampers can be adjusted, literally at the turn of a knob, a technique borrowed from Fromula-1 racing where Koni dampers have dominated the field for years. One can switch back and forth, in most cases in a matter of seconds, from a comfortable "touring" setting to a more firm setting for a sporty drive. By means of a knob the damping forces can be altered to driving conditions or personal preferences.
